March 20, 2018, marks the beginning of a new era for fun and fitness through Cheer. We are committed to promoting health and fitness as well as highly competitive Cheer activities.
Cheerleading is not what it used to be. There are no cheerleading programs in our schools even to introduce students to this activities as a means to promote school spirit, but cheer is also a competitive sport on its own that is fast growing and being introduced as an Olympic Sport. NorthStar Cheer has been offering this exciting and growing sport to the community for twelve years and we are now adding classes to promote cheer as a fun activity and a means to get fit for all ages, as well as compete. Rec. participants do not have to commit to regular attendance.
Cheer for Fun and Fitness Programs
Parent and Tot Class – Tuesday and Thursday 11:00am-12noon:
Are you home with a little one and need some activity? This is for you and your baby. (Beginning March 27th)!
Tiny Cheer Activity Class – Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm:
This recreational cheer class is open to children ages 3 1/2 to 6 years old and will work on developing motor skills and coordination.
Tumbling Class for Beginners – Monday 5:30pm-6:45pm:
Cheer level 1 skills including but not limited to front and back rolls, handstands, front and back walkovers, cartwheels and round-offs.
Tumbling for Intermediate and Advanced – Wednesday 5:30pm-6:45pm:
Cheer level 2 & 3 skills including handsprings, tucks, aerials and series tumbling passes. (ex.round-off back handspring back tuck)
**NEW** College Prep Cheer – Wednesday 7:00pm-8:15pm:
This class is for any athlete from any sport who is interested in moving on to University or College Cheer but is not currently in a cheer program. Ages 16 and up will learn skills to make the team at any College or University program! No experience necessary!
Cheer Fit – Friday 5:30pm-6:30pm:
This class is just what it sounds like, cheer to get fit. We emphasis the development of strength and stamina for competition level cheer or for those who just want to get in top physical shape. Come out and get fit!
**NEW** Cheer Fit Parent Boot Camp – Monday 7:0pm-8:15pm:
You don’t have to be a parent but you have to be an adult and you have to be ready to sweat. This is not for the weak at heart but if you are weak, you will get strong and have fun in this class!
Recreational Cheer Class – Saturday 11:0am-12:20pm:
Open to athletes age 7-13 who are interested in cheer. This class will focus on fundamentals of All-Star Cheer and introduce athletes to the jumps, stunts, tumbling, and choreography.
Teen Cheer – Saturday 2:30pm-4:30pm:
If you have a teenager that needs and activity that promotes physical fitness, but who just wants to have fun, this is the right class. Open to ages 13-18, this class will teach new skills in a fun and engaging manner without the pressure of competition.
We have always and continue to offer private lessons for all levels of cheer and for all training goals:
• Private lessons for current athletes wishing to improve skills;
• Private lessons for athletes not on a cheer to develop skills for other activities;
• Private lessons for new athletes wishing to learn the skills necessary for competitive teams, etc.
Out coaches are well trained and experienced. Private lessons are arranged with the coach of your choosing and are one on one or small groups. Lessons start at $25 per half hour with an additional fee for groups.
